Atlantic Releasing Corporation brought The Garbage Pail Kids Movie to theaters in August 1987, adapting the wildly controversial Topps trading card series that had scandalized parents and delighted children throughout the mid-decade. Directed by Rod Amateau, the film arrived at the height of the cards' cultural moment, earning an immediate PG-13 rating and near-universal critical dismissal while simultaneously cementing its place as an artifact of late-Reagan-era outsider pop culture.

This three-frame sequence captures Dodger and Captain Manzini together in what appears to be the interior of Manzini's antique shop, the film's central gathering place.
