The Garbage Pail Kids Movie was released in August 1987 by Atlantic Releasing Corporation, adapted from the wildly popular Topps trading card series that had scandalized parents and delighted children throughout the mid-1980s. Directed by Rod Amateau, the film remains a singular artifact of late Reagan-era pop culture, occupying a strange space between children's entertainment and genuine grotesquerie. Its commercial failure did little to diminish its cult following, and original 35mm elements from the production are genuinely scarce.
This cell presents three close-up frames of Valerie Vomit, portrayed by Sue Rossitto, isolated against a pink and purple background and dressed in a dark costume with a distinctive white ruffled collar. The frames are nearly identical, with the third showing a slight shift in framing, suggesting a brief hold during filming. It is a clean, character-focused composition that captures one of the film's most recognizable figures in an unusually direct and uncluttered way.
