The Garbage Pail Kids Movie was released in August 1987 by Atlantic Releasing Corporation, adapted from the controversial Topps trading card series that had scandalized parents and delighted children throughout the mid-1980s. Directed by Rod Amateau, the film arrived at the height of the cards' cultural moment and has since become a genuine artifact of late-Reagan-era outsider cinema, occupying a peculiar place in cult film history that only deepens with time.

This cell, titled Dodger and Captain Manzini, captures Anthony Newley and Mackenzie Astin together in what appears to be the antique shop interior, rendered in characteristic blue-tinted low light. The consecutive frames preserve a single shared moment between the two central figures whose relationship drives the film's unlikely heart.
