FILM NOTES

Miramax released Kill Bill: Vol. 1 in October 2003, marking Quentin Tarantino's return to directing after a six-year absence following Jackie Brown. A love letter to martial arts cinema, spaghetti westerns, and Japanese anime, the film became a defining work of early 2000s American independent filmmaking and remains a touchstone of genre-blending storytelling.

This three-frame sequence captures The Bride in an interior setting, rendered in warm golden tones against a dark background with industrial or studio-like elements visible at the edges of the frame. Shot on 35mm, the consecutive frames offer a rare glimpse into the film's deliberate visual rhythm, preserving a quiet moment of the character in near-identical succession across the strip.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
