FILM NOTES

Miramax Films released Pulp Fiction in October 1994, and Quentin Tarantino's nonlinear crime anthology immediately reshaped American independent cinema. Winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes that same year, the film revitalized careers, launched new ones, and demonstrated that bold, dialogue-driven storytelling could command mainstream audiences. Its cultural footprint has only deepened in the three decades since.

This cell preserves the Pulp Fiction title card, the film's opening declaration to its audience. The yellow-orange block lettering against a pure black field is one of cinema's most recognizable typographic moments, drawn directly from the pulp magazine aesthetic Tarantino was invoking. Three consecutive frames of this image appear here, capturing the title's sustained hold on screen before the story begins.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
