FILM NOTES

Pulp Fiction was released by Miramax Films in October 1994, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film arrived as a defining moment in American independent cinema, weaving interconnected stories of crime, consequence, and coincidence through a fractured narrative structure. Its dialogue, performances, and bold formal choices reshaped what mainstream audiences expected from genre filmmaking, and it remains one of the most studied and collected films of its decade.

This cell, titled Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield, captures three consecutive 35mm frames from the apartment confrontation sequence. Both men appear in dark suits within the same interior setting, the framing nearly identical across each frame — a tight window into a single sustained moment shared between these two characters.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
