FILM NOTES

Pulp Fiction was released by Miramax Films in October 1994, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film arrived as a defining moment in American independent cinema, weaving interconnected stories of crime, loyalty, and consequence through a fractured narrative structure. Its ensemble cast, sharp dialogue, and bold formal choices earned it the Palme d'Or at Cannes and an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, cementing its place as one of the most studied and referenced films of the decade.

This cell, titled Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield, captures three consecutive frames from the apartment confrontation sequence, presenting John Travolta as Vincent Vega and Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield in a dimly lit interior. The frames show slight variations in pose and movement across the strip, offering a rare glimpse of the scene's rhythm as it unfolded on 35mm. Together they preserve a charged moment between two of cinema's most memorable screen partnerships.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
