Toei Animation's Saint Seiya premiered on TV Asahi in October 1986, adapting Masami Kurumada's manga into one of the defining action series of its generation. The production brought a distinctive visual language to the shōnen genre, blending Greek mythology with elaborate armor designs and cosmic battle sequences that resonated across Japan and later found devoted audiences throughout Europe and Latin America.

This three-frame sequence captures Andromeda Shun mid-combat, his signature Nebula Chain technique rendered across each cel in careful progression. The chains shift from a dynamic open formation into a crossing X pattern before the figure repositions, illustrating how Toei's animators built fluid movement through incremental cel-to-cel adjustments. The deep purple space backdrop and rocky terrain place the action firmly within the series' characteristic cosmic staging.
