FILM NOTES

Saint Seiya: Evil Goddess Eris was produced by Toei Animation and released theatrically in Japan on July 18, 1987, as the first feature film spun off from Masami Kurumada's popular manga series. Arriving during the height of the Saint Seiya television run, the film brought the franchise to the big screen for a generation of fans and helped establish Toei's model of annual theatrical tie-ins alongside ongoing series.

This cell presents three consecutive close-up frames of Saori Kido, captured in tight facial composition against a purple background, her expression rendered with the large, emotive eyes characteristic of the period's theatrical animation. The repeated framing across all three panels suggests a held or dissolving moment, offering an unusually intimate look at one of the film's central figures.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
