FILM NOTES

Labyrinth was released in 1986 by TriStar Pictures, produced by George Lucas and directed by Jim Henson. A collaboration between Henson's creature workshop and Industrial Light & Magic, the film blended live action with elaborate puppetry and marked one of the more ambitious fantasy productions of the decade. Though its initial theatrical run was modest, the film built a devoted following over subsequent years and remains a touchstone of 1980s fantasy cinema.

This cell preserves the film's title card, presenting the Labyrinth logo rendered in metallic pink and rose lettering set against a dark background. As the first image to formally introduce the film to audiences, the title card carries particular significance as a piece of the theatrical experience itself.
