Labyrinth was released in 1986 through TriStar Pictures, produced by George Lucas and directed by Jim Henson in what would become one of his final feature films. A blend of live action and elaborate puppetry from the Jim Henson Company, the film found its lasting audience through home video after a modest theatrical run, and today stands as a defining artifact of 1980s fantasy filmmaking.
