FILM NOTES

Labyrinth was released in 1986 by TriStar Pictures, produced by George Lucas and directed by Jim Henson in what would prove to be one of his final feature films. A fusion of practical puppetry, elaborate set construction, and David Bowie's magnetic screen presence, the film found its deepest audience in the years following its modest theatrical run, cementing itself as a defining artifact of 1980s fantasy filmmaking and a touchstone of the Henson legacy.

This three-frame sequence captures Jareth the Goblin King amid the film's climactic clock tower environment, the towering timepiece looming behind his wild white hair and theatrical costuming as goblin creatures press in around him. The near-identical composition across all three frames suggests a held dramatic moment, offering collectors a rare sustained look at one of cinema's most visually distinctive antagonists in his domain.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
