Labyrinth was released in 1986 by TriStar Pictures, produced by George Lucas and directed by Jim Henson. A blend of puppetry, practical effects, and fantasy storytelling, the film represented a significant creative ambition of its era, uniting Henson's creature craft with an original score and screen presence from David Bowie. Though modestly received at the box office, it has since earned a devoted following and stands as a landmark of 1980s fantasy filmmaking.
