FILM NOTES

Labyrinth was released in 1986 by TriStar Pictures, produced by George Lucas and directed by Jim Henson in what would prove to be his final feature film. A collaboration between Henson's creature workshop and Industrial Light & Magic, the film blended live action with puppetry and practical effects in ways that defined a particular strand of 1980s fantasy filmmaking. Its reputation has only deepened in the decades since its modest theatrical run.

This cell captures the film's title card, presenting the word LABYRINTH in its distinctive stylized gold and pink lettering against a dark background. As an opening title frame, it represents the viewer's first formal introduction to the film's world, making it a foundational piece of Labyrinth's visual identity and a meaningful artifact for collectors of this era of practical-effects cinema.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
