Labyrinth was released in 1986 by TriStar Pictures, produced by George Lucas and directed by Jim Henson in one of his most ambitious feature efforts. Blending puppetry, practical effects, and live action, the film represented a high-water mark for fantasy filmmaking of its decade and has endured as a touchstone of 1980s cinema.
