Warner Bros. released The Dark Knight in July 2008, directed by Christopher Nolan. The film redefined what a superhero picture could accomplish, earning widespread critical recognition and becoming one of the highest-grossing films of its time. Its influence on the genre and on blockbuster filmmaking broadly remains substantial more than fifteen years later.

This cell, titled Batman, captures a sustained moment of large-scale practical destruction from the film's production. Three successive frames follow a collapsing industrial interior — steel scaffolding giving way amid fire, billowing smoke, and falling debris, with blue-tinted window light cutting through the chaos in the background.
