Warner Bros. released The Dark Knight in July 2008, directed by Christopher Nolan. The film redefined what a superhero production could achieve, drawing from crime cinema as much as comic book tradition. Heath Ledger's performance earned a posthumous Academy Award, and the film's cultural weight has only grown in the years since its release. It remains one of the most discussed American films of its decade.

This cell, titled The Joker by the operator, presents three consecutive 35mm frames from what appears to be an interior gathering scene, ornate and formally staged, with multiple unidentified figures standing and seated in low light. The slight exposure variation across the trio captures the natural rhythm of a single cinematic moment preserved in sequence.
