Clerks was written and directed by Kevin Smith and released in 1994 through Miramax Films after its celebrated debut at the Sundance Film Festival. Shot on black-and-white 16mm and blown up to 35mm for theatrical release, the film became a defining work of American independent cinema, capturing a generation's ambivalence through the mundane rhythms of retail life in Leonardo, New Jersey.

This cell presents Dante Hicks, the film's reluctant protagonist, stationed behind the Quick Stop counter across three nearly identical frames from a continuous shot.
