FILM NOTES

Digimon: The Movie arrived in October 2000 through Fox Kids and Saban Entertainment, assembled from three separate Japanese Digimon short films edited into a single American theatrical release. It landed during the peak of the early digital monster craze, competing directly with Pokémon on the big screen and capturing a generation of children navigating the anxieties of a newly networked world. The film remains a genuine artifact of turn-of-the-millennium youth culture and the era's distinctive approach to localizing Japanese animation for Western audiences.

This three-frame cell captures Matt Ishida reaching upward in an attic or loft space, the low camera angle giving the moment a sense of quiet urgency. The consecutive duplicate frames are a natural artifact of 35mm theatrical printing, preserving the same gesture across the strip and offering an unusually sustained look at one of the film's central figures in an unguarded, searching moment.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
