FILM NOTES

Digimon: The Movie arrived in October 2000, distributed by Fox Kids and Saban Entertainment as a theatrical compilation of three Japanese Digimon short films edited into a single feature. Released during the peak of the franchise's American popularity, it served as a companion piece to the animated television series and remains a notable artifact of early 2000s children's entertainment, capturing the moment when Digimon competed seriously with Pokémon for cultural dominance among young audiences.

This cell, titled Tai Kamiya, presents three frames from a pivotal sequence. Two nearly consecutive frames show Tai Kamiya indoors, wearing his familiar blue jacket against a backdrop of bookshelves. The third frame shifts to a close-up of Omnimon rendered against a vivid pink and green background, placing the series' central human protagonist alongside one of its most powerful Digimon in a single encapsulated piece.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
