FILM NOTES

Digimon: The Movie arrived in October 2000 through Fox Kids and Saban Entertainment, compiled from three separate Japanese Digimon short films and edited into a single American theatrical release. It captured a generation of children at the peak of the franchise's cultural reach, offering a rare big-screen experience for fans of the television series. The film remains a notable artifact of early 2000s anime localization, representing the era when American distributors aggressively shaped Japanese animation for domestic audiences.

This 35mm cell, titled MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon, presents both Digimon in a stacked vertical composition across three frames. The voice cast documented here reflects the production's layered recording history: Kirk Thornton appears consistently as WereGarurumon, while MetalGreymon's role was shared between Joseph Pilato and Tom Fahn across the strip.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
