FILM NOTES

Digimon: The Movie arrived in North American theaters in October 2000, distributed by Fox Kids and Saban Entertainment during the peak of the franchise's cultural reach. Assembled from three separate Japanese short films, it represented an ambitious attempt to bring the television series to the big screen, arriving alongside a wave of similar anime adaptations competing for young audiences at the turn of the millennium.

This cell, titled Diaboromon by the operator, captures a pivotal moment from the film's digivolution sequence. The frames move from Wendigomon in a dynamic combat stance, dark armored form set against a pale background, through a close-up of Wendigomon's snarling face with yellow eyes, to a matching close-up of Diaboromon, the parallel framing underscoring the transformation between the two forms.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
