FILM NOTES

Digimon: The Movie arrived in October 2000, distributed by Fox Kids and Saban Entertainment during the peak of the early digital monster craze that rivaled Pokémon for the attention of a generation. Assembled from three separate Japanese productions, the film represented an ambitious attempt to bring the Digimon universe to American theatrical audiences, and its blend of internet-age anxiety with creature adventure made it a genuine cultural artifact of the turn-of-the-millennium moment.

This cell captures Izzy's laptop in action, the monitor displaying the distinctive green field interface of the Digimon digital world. Pulled from what appears to be an early sequence, the frame preserves the precise visual language the film used to bridge the physical and digital realms, with animated characters visible on screen exactly as audiences first encountered them in theaters.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
