DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for the studio and for computer-animated feature filmmaking broadly. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film earned the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and became a defining cultural touchstone of the early 2000s, launching one of animation's most successful franchises and demonstrating that CGI storytelling could rival anything produced by its competitors.

This cell presents three frames from the Shrek title card sequence, each displaying the iconic gold lettering against a pure black field. The final frame carries a partial crop at the right edge, a natural artifact of the printing process. Together the three frames offer a clean, graphic record of how the film announced itself to audiences on 35mm release prints.
