DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for the studio and for computer-animated features broadly. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film earned the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and demonstrated that CGI storytelling could carry genuine wit and emotional weight alongside its technical ambition.

This cell, titled Shrek in His Swamp, captures Shrek in and around the outhouse structure outside his swamp dwelling, framed against the dense grasses and stone path that define his solitary home. The low angle and rustic wooden surroundings emphasize the character's scale and the lived-in quality of the environment he fiercely calls his own.
