Shrek was released by DreamWorks Animation in May 2001, arriving at a moment when computer-generated feature filmmaking was still establishing its creative vocabulary. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film drew on fractured fairy-tale tradition to build something genuinely new, earning the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and reshaping the landscape of studio animation for the decade that followed.

This cell, titled Snow White and Dwarves, captures three frames from the fairy-tale refugee camp sequence, one of the film's most densely populated comic passages. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs appear across all three frames, the grouping becoming progressively clearer through the warm interior lighting that characterizes the scene. It is a quietly memorable corner of a landmark production.
