DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for computer-generated feature filmmaking and signaling a confident challenge to Disney's long dominance of the animated fairy-tale genre. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film earned the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and demonstrated that irreverent, layered storytelling could find enormous audiences across generations. Its influence on the decade that followed was considerable.

This cell, titled Snow White and Dwarves, captures Snow White alongside the Seven Dwarfs in a warmly lit interior setting drawn from the film's fairy-tale refugee world.
