DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point in computer-animated filmmaking and signaling a genuine challenge to Disney's long dominance of the genre. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film blended fairy-tale irreverence with genuine emotional depth, earning the first-ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and launching one of animation's most enduring franchises.

This three-frame cell, titled Shrek, captures a continuous shot of Shrek and Snow White together within a darkly lit interior setting. The frames run as a single uninterrupted moment across the strip, printed in an inverted orientation — a distinctive characteristic of how this particular sequence appears on the original 35mm print.
