DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for the studio and for computer-animated features broadly. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film earned the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and demonstrated that CGI storytelling could carry genuine wit and emotional weight alongside its technical ambition.

This cell, titled Fiona, Shrek and Donkey, captures three frames from what appears to be the castle rescue sequence, shot in cool purple and blue interior light against stone architecture. Donkey, Shrek, and Princess Fiona are all present across the continuous composition, preserving a pivotal moment from the film's central act in 35mm original camera negative format.
