DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for computer-generated feature filmmaking and signaling a confident challenge to Disney's long dominance of the animated genre. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film blended fairy-tale irreverence with genuine emotional weight, earning the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and launching one of animation's most enduring franchises.

This cell, titled Fiona Fighting, captures the forest ravine ambush sequence in which Robin Hood and his Merry Men intercept Princess Fiona. Three consecutive 35mm frames preserve the same charged moment: Fiona visible in her green dress, Monsieur Hood holding his staff or lute, and the film's distinctive sparkly title script briefly illuminating the upper frame.
