DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for computer-animated features outside the Disney-Pixar axis. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film earned the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and demonstrated that irreverent, layered storytelling could find enormous audiences. Its cultural footprint has only deepened in the decades since.

This cell, titled Fiona and Shrek, captures three consecutive frames from an outdoor sequence set in the swamp and surrounding woodland. Princess Fiona and Shrek appear together across all three frames, with Donkey visible in the first, placing the moment within one of the film's central travelling passages. It is a quiet, character-driven fragment from the heart of the story.
