DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for computer-animated features outside the Disney-Pixar axis. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film earned the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and demonstrated that irreverent, layered storytelling could find enormous commercial and critical success. Its influence on the decade that followed is difficult to overstate.

This cell, titled Fiona, Shrek and Donkey, captures the three central figures together in a forest and rocky outdoor setting, mid-journey through the film's narrative. The consecutive frames preserve a shared moment between Shrek, Princess Fiona, and Donkey, offering a rare glimpse of the trio in the same composition on original 35mm print film.
