Shrek was released by DreamWorks Animation in May 2001 and marked a turning point in computer-animated filmmaking. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, it subverted fairy tale conventions with wit and sincerity, earning the first Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Its cultural footprint proved enormous and enduring.

This cell, titled Fiona, Shrek and Donkey, captures three consecutive frames from a single shot in an outdoor forested and rocky setting. Princess Fiona, Shrek, and Donkey are grouped closely together, the continuity across all three frames preserving a rare sense of movement frozen in time. It is a quietly compelling piece of original 35mm material from one of animation's landmark productions.
