DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point for computer-animated features and offering a knowing, irreverent counterpoint to the fairy-tale conventions Disney had long defined. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film was a commercial and critical success, winning the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and establishing a franchise that would span two decades.

This cell, titled Fiona, captures Princess Fiona in her human form smiling in a sunlit outdoor setting, with stone masonry and greenery framing the moment. An adjacent frame repeats the image, a common characteristic of 35mm animation prints. Lord Farquaad also appears, positioned within an ornate interior distinguished by a stained glass window, placing him unmistakably in his castle.
