DreamWorks Animation released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point in computer-animated filmmaking and signaling a genuine challenge to Disney's long dominance of the genre. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film became a cultural phenomenon and the inaugural winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, cementing its place in cinema history.

This 35mm cell presents the Shrek title card three times in sequence, each frame showing the film's signature yellow and gold stylized lettering set against a pure black background and oriented vertically within the encapsulation. As a title card element, it represents one of the most immediately recognizable graphic identities in early twenty-first century animation.
