Shrek arrived in May 2001 as DreamWorks Animation's defining statement, a film that challenged Disney's dominance of the feature animation market while pioneering the use of fully computer-generated characters and environments at a theatrical scale. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, it became the year's highest-grossing animated release and won the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, cementing DreamWorks SKG as a serious force in the medium.

This cell captures the DreamWorks Title Card as it appeared on a 35mm theatrical print, preserving three consecutive frames of the studio's opening logo sequence. The familiar dark sky and cloud imagery of the DreamWorks SKG wordmark appears across all three frames, with the final frame showing the logo partially cropped at the right edge — a natural artifact of the print's frame boundary.
