Shrek arrived in May 2001 as DreamWorks Animation's defining statement, a film that challenged Disney's dominance of the feature animation market while simultaneously deconstructing the fairy-tale genre it inhabited. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, it became the first film awarded the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and remains a landmark in computer-generated filmmaking.

This cell presents the DreamWorks SKG title card, the studio's signature moonlit cloudscape that opened every DreamWorks release of the era. The sequence appears three times across the strip, with the final frame showing the logo partially cropped at the right edge — a natural artifact of how the card sat within the theatrical print's leader.
