DreamWorks Animation and PDI released Shrek in May 2001, marking a turning point in computer-animated features. The film challenged Disney's dominance, won the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and launched one of animation's most successful franchises. Its irreverent humor and technical ambition made it a cultural landmark of early 2000s cinema.
This cell, titled Trailer End Card, captures three consecutive frames from the theatrical teaser trailer's closing image: two silhouetted figures set against a large full moon on a rocky outcrop, accompanied by the "MAY 2001" release date and the www.SHREK.com web address, with DreamWorks and PDI credits below. The repeated composition across all three frames reflects standard theatrical printing of a held end card.
