Ghostbusters II arrived from Columbia Pictures in the summer of 1989, reuniting the original cast five years after the first film became a cultural phenomenon. Directed again by Ivan Reitman, the sequel leaned into the franchise's established humor while delivering a larger-scale supernatural adventure.
