FILM NOTES

Ghostbusters II arrived in June 1989 from Columbia Pictures, reuniting director Ivan Reitman with the original cast five years after the first film's massive cultural impact. The sequel brought the team back to face a river of psychoreactive slime beneath New York City, arriving at the height of summer blockbuster culture and cementing the franchise's place in late-1980s popular cinema. The film's visual identity, built around the iconic no-ghost symbol, had by then become one of the most recognizable logos in Hollywood history.

This cell, confirmed as the Ghostbusters II Title Card, captures three sequential frames from what appears to be the film's animated title sequence. The no-ghost symbol holds against a dark background across the first two frames before a circular vortex effect emerges to the right in the third, suggesting a transitional moment within the opening logo animation. Preserved on 35mm, these frames offer a direct look at how the production introduced its signature emblem to theater audiences.
