FILM NOTES

Paramount Pictures released Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in May 1984 as the prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, with Steven Spielberg directing and George Lucas producing. The film pushed the boundaries of the adventure genre with its darker tone, contributing directly to the creation of the PG-13 rating. Shot on 35mm, it remains a landmark of 1980s Hollywood filmmaking and a cornerstone of the Indiana Jones franchise.
