FILM NOTES

Beetlejuice was released by Warner Bros. in March 1988, directed by Tim Burton in only his second feature film. The production marked an early collaboration between Burton and Michael Keaton and helped establish the director's signature aesthetic of macabre comedy rooted in practical effects and expressionist design. The film was a significant commercial and cultural success, earning an Academy Award for Best Makeup and cementing Burton as a major Hollywood voice.

This cell captures a three-figure grouping featuring Beetlejuice, Lydia, and Adam in what appears to be a continuous sequence of frames from a single interior scene. The warm practical light source at left anchors the composition, while the striped suit, dark costuming, and period ghost wardrobe place this moment within the film's central dynamic between the living and the dead.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
