FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released Beetlejuice in March 1988, directed by Tim Burton in only his second feature film. The production marked an early collaboration between Burton and Michael Keaton and established a visual language for supernatural comedy that influenced the genre for years. With a modest budget and practical effects, the film became a significant commercial and cultural success, cementing Burton's reputation as a distinctive voice in Hollywood.

This cell, titled Beetlejuice, captures Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse against a deep blue-lit background, the disorienting angle and wild white hair suggesting one of the film's miniature model-world or supernatural sequences. The consecutive frames preserve a rare, sustained glimpse of Keaton fully inhabiting the character across what appears to be a single unbroken shot.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
