FILM NOTES

Beetlejuice was released by Warner Bros. in March 1988, directed by Tim Burton in only his second feature film. The production marked an early collaboration between Burton and Michael Keaton and established a visual language — gothic, darkly comic, handcrafted — that would define much of the director's subsequent work. The film was a significant commercial and cultural success, earning an Academy Award for Best Makeup and cementing Burton's reputation as a singular voice in American studio filmmaking.

This cell, titled Beetlejuice, Barbara and Adam, captures an interior moment on the film's elaborately designed practical sets. The frame shows Beetlejuice in his signature black-and-white striped suit alongside Barbara in her light dress, a quiet pause within the supernatural domestic world the two characters share throughout the picture.
