FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in Japanese theaters in July 1999 and reached North American audiences the following summer through Warner Bros., riding the peak of the global Pokémon phenomenon. The second theatrical entry in the franchise expanded on its predecessor's scale, centering on the Legendary birds and Lugia, and drew substantial box office returns while cementing the series as a genuine cinematic event for a generation of young audiences.

This cell, titled Professor Oak, Delia and Mr. Mime, captures a nighttime outdoor scene in which Mr. Mime stands prominently holding an orange umbrella against dark, wind-swept conditions, with Professor Oak and Delia Ketchum nearby. Spanning three consecutive frames from the same shot, the cell preserves a quiet, atmospheric moment featuring voice performances from Unshō Ishizuka, Masami Toyoshima, and Yūji Ueda in Japanese, and Stan Hart, Veronica Taylor, and Kayzie Rogers in English.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
