Top Secret! was released by Paramount Pictures in June 1984, directed by the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker team fresh off Airplane! The film is a loving parody of Cold War spy thrillers and Elvis musicals, and while it underperformed on initial release, it has since earned a devoted following for its relentless visual gag density and committed absurdist craft. It remains a benchmark of the era's spoof comedy.
This cell, titled Beach Bikini Girl, captures three consecutive frames from the sun-drenched opening "Skeet Surfin'" sequence. The shot holds on a blonde sunbather in a blue-and-yellow striped bikini as she props herself up on the sand, red sandals and a bottle of suntan oil resting beside her, footprints trailing away behind her across the beach.
