Top Secret! was released by Paramount Pictures in 1984, the third feature from the comedy team of Jim Abrahams and David and Jerry Zucker, following their landmark Airplane! The film spoofed Cold War spy thrillers and Elvis-era musicals simultaneously, a characteristically ambitious premise for the ZAZ collective. Though it performed modestly at the box office, it has earned a devoted following for its relentless visual gags and commitment to absurdist craft.
