Walt Disney Feature Animation released Lilo & Stitch in June 2002, a deliberately smaller-scale production that returned the studio to hand-drawn character work with a fresh, irreverent sensibility. Set in Hawaii and built around themes of family and belonging, the film became a genuine cultural touchstone and a commercial success that surprised many industry observers. Promotional materials from this period, including teaser trailers that playfully inserted Stitch into footage from classic Disney films, are now recognized as clever marketing artifacts in their own right.

This cell, titled Stitch Surfing, captures three consecutive frames from that promotional campaign. Stitch rides a surfboard across open ocean waves, mouth stretched wide in characteristic abandon, the camera positioned above him with a partial human figure just entering the frame. The slight positional shift across all three frames preserves a genuine sense of motion, offering a rare sequential look at the alien's brief, chaotic moment on the water.
