Cars 2 was released by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios in June 2011, arriving as the studio's first direct sequel to a Pixar original. Directed by John Lasseter, the film shifted the franchise into spy-thriller territory, drawing on classic espionage cinema while retaining its anthropomorphic world. It remains a distinctive entry in the Pixar catalog and a significant moment in the studio's history of pushing animated storytelling into new genres.

This cell, titled Mater, Finn and Holley, captures three consecutive frames from a single shot featuring Tow Mater alongside British intelligence agent Finn McMissile and field operative Holley Shiftwell. Holley's purple form is visible in the upper portion of the frame, with the image oriented sideways on the strip as originally photographed.
