Pixar Animation Studios released Cars 2 in June 2011, marking the studio's first direct sequel and its most ambitious foray into globe-trotting action-adventure territory. Built around an international spy thriller framework, the film represented a significant tonal departure from its 2006 predecessor and remains a distinctive artifact of Pixar's early 2010s output, preserved here on 35mm exhibition print stock.

This cell, titled Mater, Finn and Holley, captures three consecutive frames from a single shot featuring Tow Mater, Finn McMissile, and Holley Shiftwell gathered together in an interior setting, with a purple vehicle visible in the upper portion of the frame. The near-identical compositions across all three frames offer a rare, intimate look at the continuity of a single cinematic moment.
